administration update

I expanded the list of interests in the profile, because it was mostly a list of cat breeds. No pedigree required at [community profile] cats !

Although of course pedigreed cats are also celebrated!

I switched to a cat-themed style, although I am open to the idea of improving it if anyone good at styling communities is interested in donating their efforts. I like all your ideas so far and hope this community will grow and become a resource.

That said, I will share that my older cat's health crisis has reached a very sad point and I will be saying goodbye to her on Friday. So I may not be on here that much over the rest of the week and weekend. But I will be back -- I will have one cat (in icon) remaining!

 Hi everyone!

I succeeded in getting this community transferred to me since its previous administrator had been inactive for ages.

Unfortunately, the fall semester has taken all my time, and one of my own cats has not been well.

But out perhaps we can use this post now to start a discussion about what we like to see in a refreshed community.

What should DW's cat community be like?

Hey fellow artists! The new fanart community [community profile] drawesome has been really active since its inception in July and there are two posts that might be interesting for you guys too (disclaimer, yes I made those posts).

Posing references

This is a list of books, online articles, stock image sites and tutorials we compiled. I'd love more links though.

Storing art

This is a discussion I started today mainly because I don't feel I have a proper storage solution for my pastels yet.

I'd be delighted if some of you add your own resources or thoughts here in this post or over at [community profile] drawesome. We artists should help each other out!

We may not get more Jude | Zero | Zude in canon, but that doesn’t mean we can’t get them in our fic/art/vids! This round of Team Zude Comment!Fic & Art Fest is for virtual season four-related prompts where Jude and Zero are both still on the show.

Leave a prompt in comments to this post at [community profile] team_zude. If you find a prompt that you like, go ahead and fill it!

The Fest will run for ~6 weeks, beginning today, Friday, September 15th, and running through midnight Tuesday, October 31st. See the post linked above for more information.

the improbable dream

I just read that Tom Ford is coming out with a fragrance called - wait for it - Fucking Fabulous.

Edgy, huh. Anyway, the name, which some folks are absolutely clutching their pearls over, isn't what's making me gasp - it's the price. $310 USD for 1.7 ounces, or 50 ml. I think that's freakin' crazy. And I don't own *any* TF frags because the price is just so prohibitive - though I like Santal Blush and Neroli Portofino, and I'd like to have some Noir de Noir for sure.

Which makes me wonder - is there a holy grail fragrance for you? Would you be willing to shell out big money for it?

For myself, I'd love to have some original Ralph Lauren Tuxedo, and Catherine Deneuve Deneuve, both big 80s scents. Le Labo came out with Belle du Soir which is a pretty good dupe for Deneuve, and I have a solid of that, but I'd still like the original. And I have an Irma Shorell version of Tuxedo which, sadly, smells nothing like the original I remember, which was so glamorous and sharp and sophisticated. I was a kid when I had the tiny bottle of the stuff, and I kept the bottle long after the fragrance was gone, just to smell the faint dregs. Sigh.

I wouldn't pay 300 for an ounce, but I would consider *maybe* 100 for each, if decent unturned bottles were to show up. It's so risky to buy blind, though.... :-/

What's your long lost fragrance dream?

Pre-Gen Characters

So, I'm at a bit of a lost. One of my D&D groups changed meeting days and times and I had to bow out because Friday is Date Night and I don't see a lot of my boyfriend during the week. I'm bummed as I like the people in the group and I was fond of my character and at 5th level in 5e, things start getting good.

I found this group through MeetUp, but the latest meetings posted all have pre-gen characters and I'm just not wild about the idea. I've played with pre-gen at a convention and it was okay, but even when you know the system it takes a while to get acquainted.

Thoughts?
